"As I usually focus in portraits/faces, it's always like stumbling into uncharted territory when painting landscapes and distance perspective pieces. I guess you could say I was starting on this path of healing & on the verge of longed for self-discovery at the time, really just trying to get out of my comfort zone. As I began sketching tree branches, I did not really know where I would end up, until it suddenly looked like one of the tree stumps was a figure staring up at the sky. I was stumped (no pun intended) on what to do next. After leaving it be for a few weeks, one day I just came back, and suddenly, by the next day, I had painted an entire fictional reality that even I wasn't sure how to interpret.
