"The planet Mercury, little is known about it other than it being one of our closest neighbors & smallest planet in our solar system -- but closest to the sun -- I found it symbolic as mermaids are mythical, legendary creatures of the oceans, and although we know more than we do about Mercury, we know little about the depths of the ocean, much like we knew very little of the depths of Freddie. Freddie often used references to mythical creatures in his lyrics, and he always referred to Queen's music and performances as a form of 'escapism.' In his song, 'Liar,' for instance, he says, 'I have sailed the seas, from Mars to Mercury,' and I felt the connection to...
